What Happens on my First Appointment?
Our initial contact will be via the phone or e-mail. If it is by e-mail we will need to arrange a mutually convenient time to talk on the phone to discuss what help you are wanting and to arrange a first appointment.
Your first appointment will be for 50 minutes as will subsequent appointments. Our first meeting is essentially about discussing what problems you want help with, the counselling service that I provide and any questions you may have. Through this process we both decide whether the counselling service that I offer is right for you.
Confidentiality
For counselling to be safe and effective confidentiality is essential. Any e-mails or phone calls that you make to me are viewed and answered only by me. Written information is kept securely. I am an accredited and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and my practice is guided by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
